Remember What's Important...To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Celeb Sighting (I'm a dork)

Exciting news!  I just saw Mel Gibson.  The funny thing is that he is actually in our building several times a month because there's some alternative medicine/vitamin/herb company here that he meets with, but I always miss him.  Well, today I actually saw him.  He looked pretty much like I would have expected, except a little smaller.  It seems like this is usually the case whenever I have seen celebrities.  I have this "larger than life" picture in my head and then when I see them in personthey seem smaller than what I imagined.

May 24, 2008

Obviously, it is a long way away, but we booked our reception location for May 24, 2008!  It is crazy how fast things book up.  I guess in Omaha there are limited places and limited times for the possibility of nice weather, so during those time they book really far in advance.  Anyway, we're glad to have that taken care of and now we have a good long time to plan everything else!

What a great weekend!

So, here's the story-Last week JJ and I were talking about how we needed to do more fun things and take advantage of living in LA.  I've just been getting bored  and lazy lately and I thought we should make an effort to do more fun, new things.  So, Saturday night we went to this cool wine bar in Culver City-Bottlerock (which was fun-we should all get together and go sometime).  We had wine and cheeses and cheesecake-all very yummy and we saw Dreamgirls-which was great.

JJ had the idea that we should go rent bikes and ride on the beach on Sunday (which was also really fun and I highly recommend).  So, we were rode up from Venice to Santa Monica and then we were going back to Venice and we stopped for a break.  We parked our bikes and went out walking on the beach.  JJ started pointing at something in the distance and saying "what is that?"  I was like "what, the plane?"  Then he said "no over there" and I turned to look and didn't know what he was talking about, then I turned around to ask him what he was talking about and he got down on one knee and proposed-so cute!

Anyway, obviously we have been together for awhile, so it wasn't out of nowhere, but I definitely wasn't expecting it yesterday.  He did a good job of picking a beautiful spot and surprising me :)

As of now, we are planning to do the wedding in Omaha, because it will be a lot better for our families (and I'll have my mom there to help with everything).  We are thinking June 2008-obviously we aren't the type to rush things :)  I'll keep you posted on the details as we decide.

Happy Friday!

I keep thinking I need to post something new, but there really hasn't been anything too notable to post.  I have discovered that I definitely have a least favorite client and unfortunately I have had to write numeorus declarations and do tons of work on his case over the past two weeks.  Thank God it seems like I am done working on it for awhile.  Hope everyone has a good weekend!! (and stays warm! wtf is with this cold?!?  80 degrees a couple days ago and it's supposed to be 30 tonight)
